As an Adviser I am someone to talk with about you and your recruitment company, about your current reality and desired future state, the opportunities and challenges you face and how to work through them to get to where you want you and your business to go.
This relationship always starts with a conversation to ascertain whether there’s a chemistry between us and whether I can genuinely help you with your challenges or opportunities. There are different approaches for different situations.
It could be as a facilitator for a strategic planning session, as an adviser to the board or as a mentor to the owner(s) of smaller boutique recruitment agencies who want a respected external view or service providers to the recruitment industry who wish to connect with recruiters.
There are a few core subjects I talk about with some passion and insight as a key note speaker, with smaller groups as a facilitator, or as part of an expert panel.
- The ‘3 C’s “Art of Leadership- 9 lessons learned the hard way
- No Dickheads, No Passengers – creating a positive culture and hiring better people
- Proposition, Positioning, Performance – 3 easy steps to winning that job
- The future of recruitment –the challenges and opportunities
- Value Based Pricing in Recruitment – what it means for you
As an entrepreneur I love recruitment; it has been my life for thirty years. There have been more changes in the industry within the past two years than the previous twenty-eight. There are so many new smart ideas on how to hire better people, to improve the efficiency and proposition of recruitment firms or to sell services to the recruitment sector.
Most involve innovative use of technology and social media and some require commercial recruitment expertise or finance or both.
I have invested emotionally and financially in a few ideas and a few companies that have succeeded (and a few that haven’t!) and I am always interested in hearing about new ideas and ventures.
